SANRAL’s Western Cape regional manager, Randall Cable, says pointsmen have been stationed at busy intersections to assist with traffic flow.

JOHANNESBURG - Motorists are being urged to remain cautious as construction continues along the N2 highway between George and Wilderness in the Western Cape.

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) has confirmed that the route will remain open to two-way traffic during the Easter holiday period to accommodate increased travel volumes.

SANRAL’s Western Cape regional manager, Randall Cable, said that pointsmen had been stationed at busy intersections to assist with traffic flow.

He added that contingency plans had been put in place to manage any vehicle breakdowns along the route.

"SANRAL is working with all the road authorities and the traffic authorities to support and assist the road users on their travels this Easter weekend. The road is a shared space, and road safety is a shared responsibility. Working together, we can make the roads safer for everyone, including pedestrians."
