Table View beachfront project now in final phase with refurbishing of ablution facilities
THE City has made significant progress with the upgrade of the Table View beachfront, with major infrastructure upgrades now being completed.
The final phase of the project entails the refurbishment of the ablution facilities at Dolphin Beach and Bokkomsbaai, among others. If all goes as planned, the project will conclude before the festive season.
The upgrade of the Table View beachfront commenced in July 2022 and included major improvements to rehabilitate and revitalise what is one of the city’s prime tourist attractions along the Atlantic coastline.
The work is taking place along a stretch of 3km of coastline from Dolphin Beach in the south to Bokkomsbaai in the north, and entails rehabilitating the dune system, improving pedestrian access to the beach and parking, creating a new pathway along the coast, implementing sand management, and upgrading various facilities, services, and infrastructure.
“We are now in the final stretch with all of our efforts focused on meeting the project deadline. On this note, I want to thank the local businesses and residents for their ongoing support over the past four years,” said the City’s Deputy Mayor and mayoral committee member for spatial planning and environment, Eddie Andrews.
