The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to inform residents, road users, businesses and the broader public of roadworks in Table View and Sunset Beach. In Sunset Beach, the work commences today, 13 October and in Table View from this Wednesday, 15 October 2025. These road resurfacing projects are scheduled to end on Friday, 7 November 2025 weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays. The work will be carried out between 08:00 and 17:30, Monday to Saturday.
In Table View, work will be done along the following roads: Cross Road, Circle Road, South Road, Keats Road, Van De Graaf Road, St Chads, Bay Beach Avenue, Blaauwberg Road, Gie Road, R27 between Link Road and Sandown Road, Parklands Main Road and Wood Drive.
The work will involve repairs to the footway, remove existing asphalt and laying new asphalt. Once completed, new road markings will be applied to improve road safety and visibility.
In Sunset Beach, road resurfacing work will be carried out along Bay Beach Avenue.
‘We would like to thank all road users in these two areas for their patience. The resurfacing of existing roads forms part of the City’s road maintenance system that ensures that we prolong the longevity of the City’s road network. I ask motorists and pedestrians to please pay attention to road signs and be vigilant in and around the roadworks areas as we work towards keeping Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
To facilitate the work, partial lane closures may be in place. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes where possible to minimise delays.
