THE OAKS – The construction of The Oaks Shopping Mall, a R200 million development in The Oaks Village, Maruleng Local Municipality, is well underway. Situated approximately 36 kilometers from Hoedspruit, the mall is poised to become a significant retail hub for the surrounding rural communities.
The project, known as The Oaks Crossing Shopping Centre, is being developed by Sampada Private Equity in collaboration with the Maruleng Local Municipality.
The initiative aims to provide residents with convenient access to retail services, reducing the need to travel long distances for shopping.
Mayor Cllr Tsheko Musolwa has expressed optimism about the mall’s potential to stimulate local economic growth.
He highlighted that the development is expected to create numerous job opportunities for residents, both during the construction phase and upon completion.
The mall’s strategic location and anticipated completion are part of Maruleng’s broader efforts to enhance infrastructure and economic development within the municipality.
The project aligns with the municipality’s vision to decentralize economic activities and bring services closer to its communities.
