Kelly Park roads in Randpark Ridge need attention from the Johannesburg Roads Agency as they are littered with potholes.
Residents in Kelly Park, Randpark Ridge, are demanding action from the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) over the neglected Patrys Road and Kwartel Street.
The two roads are littered with potholes and cause frustrations for the residents. They have been reporting and escalating the matter for more than a year. Resident Raymond Leppan said that the roads were a nightmare to drive on.
“There are some areas where you cannot avoid the holes. These potholes are deep and are damaging tyres. We want the entity to attend and fix the road, as it is now dangerous for us to drive on.”
The resident wants JRA to resurface the road and not patch the potholes, as they believe it is not a permanent or long-lasting solution.
“The problem is that they fill them, and they open up again. To me, it is a waste of money. We have seen many around the area. If they can resurface the road, it will save a lot of money in the long run. Prepare and resurface it properly.”
Ward 104 councillor Devon Steenkamp confirmed that Patrys Road is on the JRA’s list of roads the entity has committed to repair. He said the entity has committed to repairing these roads by July 1 this year.
Steenkamp shared the following list of priority roads that have been identified by JRA in Ward 104:

Randpark Ridge
- Katdoring Street / Asgaai Avenue
- Asgaai Avenue / Geelhout Street

JRA comment will follow once it is received.
