The Lekwa Municipality MMC for Planning and Economic Development, Sesana Masondo, conducted an oversight visit to the Standerton Mall construction site on April 9 to assess progress on the development.



According to the municipality, the visit forms part of its ongoing commitment to monitor key infrastructure and economic development projects aimed at boosting local growth and improving service delivery.



During the inspection, Masondo engaged with the project manager to evaluate construction milestones, adherence to timelines, and overall project performance.



The municipality highlighted that the Standerton Mall development is a significant investment in the local economy.



The project is expected to create job opportunities, enhance retail offerings, and contribute to the revitalisation of the area.



According to the latest project update, construction is progressing steadily, with completion estimated for February 2027.
