The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) was abuzz with activity as teams in orange overalls carried out extensive road maintenance work in Region C, Roodepoort, on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. The maintenance programme focused on repairing potholes, replacing and repairing road signage, fixing traffic signals, and maintaining culverts to improve road safety and enhance the overall condition of the City's road infrastructure.

Among those in attendance were the Regional Director for Region C, Mlamleli Belot, Ward Councillor René Benjamin, JRA executives, CRUM Region C officials and teams from other supporting departments in the region.

Belot expressed his appreciation to residents and stakeholders who continue to play an active role in improving their neighbourhoods by reporting service delivery challenges and other incidents requiring City's attention.

“I would like to express my gratitude for the support you give to all the City's initiatives. Time and again, we need to refurbish, remove, restructure and repair parts of the City, and for that we give thanks to the JRA, which is doing great work in this region," said Belot. He encouraged residents to continue working closely with the City by reporting infrastructure defects and protecting public assets from vandalism, noting that community participation remains vital in ensuring effective and sustainable service delivery.

The ongoing maintenance campaign forms part of the City's broader commitment to creating a well-maintained, accessible, and resilient road network that supports economic activity and enhances the quality of life for communities throughout Johannesburg.
