Residents in Greenhills can expect smoother and safer roads as the Rand West City Local Municipality rolls out resurfacing and maintenance projects across the area.
Greenhills residents can expect improved driving conditions after the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) began resurfacing roads as part of its ongoing infrastructure maintenance programme.
The project aims to restore deteriorating road surfaces, repair damage, and improve road safety throughout the area.
MMC for Roads Bruce Nimmerhoudt said resurfacing work will continue at various locations across Randfontein, with several projects already completed.
Remedial works on 12th Street, Morgan Road, Darter Road, Amandel Road and Homestead Avenue have been completed, while pothole repairs have been carried out in Helikon Park, Arends Street and along the R559.
“With the support of the Rapid Response Team, we have made tremendous efforts in accelerating service delivery in all the wards,” said Nimmerhoudt.
He appealed to residents to be patient while the work continues.
Construction teams will be carrying out resurfacing, patching and rehabilitation work to extend the lifespan of the road network and improve travel conditions for motorists.
Motorists may experience temporary disruptions, including partial road closures and delays, and are encouraged to obey road signage and use alternative routes where possible.
The municipality said the project forms part of its commitment to improving service delivery and maintaining road infrastructure across the city.
