Planning to travel along the R25? Long-term lane closures are coming to this key stretch of Modderfontein Road from June 9.

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport has issued a public notice announcing scheduled lane closures along the R25 Modderfontein Road to accommodate ongoing construction work.

The affected section stretches between K113 (R25) and P91-01 (Pretoria Road) and includes critical upgrades to the intersection at K113 and P91-1.

The lane closures will be in effect from June 9 and are expected to continue until April 7, 2026.

The work will take place throughout the week, including weekends and overnight periods.

Both the westbound and eastbound lanes of the R25 will be impacted during this period.

Motorists are strongly urged to exercise caution while driving through the construction zone.

Authorities are appealing to the public for patience and cooperation, noting that these infrastructure improvements are essential for the socioeconomic development of the area.
