construction is due to begin at the sheraton heliopolis in cairo on a new 300 bed extension. the rooms will be arranged over six-storeys around a full height glazed atrium, providing an area of tranquil gardens, palm trees and water features flanked by bars, restaurants and a health club. additional facilities include a new ballroom, conference facilities, back of house facilities and parking for 200 cars over three levels. international consultant yolles, in conjunction with its local partner eco, has provided both structural and façade engineering for the architect wimberly allison tong and goo. elsewhere in cairo, construction is nearing completion on a new 366-room, four seasons regent hotel. the hotel boasts a 30-storey tower soaring 140m above the corniche boulevard and facilities including a large ballroom, health club with indoor and outdoor pools and three restaurants. there is also a residential complex with 144 apartments, retail, office space and underground parking. yolles is providing structural engineering services alongside local alliance partner eco. the architect is webb zerafa menkes housden partnership.
