Tender Details Project: Energy Sector Recovery Project. Abstract: Olkaria II Geothermal Power Plant Unit 3 Extension. The Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Engineer, Procure and Construct Contract for the installation of an additional geothermal turbine generator unit with a Normal Continuous Rating (NCR) of at least 32.5MWe (net) at the Olkaria II Power Station including the augmentation of the existing switchyard and the interconnection and modification of existing geothermal steam gathering systems. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries with qualifications and experience on designing, procuring, supplying and installing a geothermal and ancillary plant including steamfield interconnections of a net capacity not less than 32MWe. Postqualification requirement of the bidding document will seek evidence on capability and experience of those firms that have not been prequalified. Update of the prequalification information will be made by the two prequalified firms (namely the Joint Venture Consortium of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Ltd, Taisei Corporation, and Mitsubishi Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation and subcontractor Fuji Electric Systems).
