Transnet's new administration building

Construction of a R115 million 5-storey office building in zone 1 of the Coega IDZ, in the Eastern Cape. The 9500m2 building will offer views of the Port of Ngqura and the sea. It will include amenities such as a library, cafeteria and gym. Apart from the modern design, the headquarter will also feature technology such as biometric access where fingerprints will be used to allow people access to a specific area. The African-themed interior of the energy-efficient building will boast high-qualify finishes and include specialized features such as intelligent lighting, where self-dimming fluorescents blend in with the natural lighting. A total of 333 on-site and basement parking bays will be available. The contractor's external works comprise a palisade and post perimeter fence with gatehouse and access-controlled entrance.
