Tonkolili Iron-ore Project, Sierra Leone

African Minerals Limited is a mineral exploration company with significant interests in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The Company’s Tonkolili Iron Ore Project is located in the Sula Mountains Greenstone Belt of Sierra Leone. The Tonkolili deposits have the third-largest magnetite resources in the world. The project will be conducted in three phases. Phase 1 involved the complete the reconstruction of the Pepel port and the 74km of existing railway and the establishment of a major mine. Phase 2 will result in the expansion of the mine by 30 million tons a year to a total of 50 million tons a year. At the mine a new major concentrator will be built.
