About this development
Construction of the Taaibos North Wind Energy Facility located within Ward 5 and Ward 6 on Farm Number/Portion- RE/148, 1/200, 3/200, 2/200, 1/145, 4/145, RE/201, 1/250, and 147 in Ubuntu Local Municipality near Victoria West and Loxton towns, Northern Cape. The wind energy facility will consist of up to 40 turbines, with a total facility output of up to 270MW. It will also include a powerline and switching station in order to connect to the existing Eskom Substation. There is also a battery energy storage system (BESS), temporary and permanent laydown areas, an IPP substation, collector substation, a concrete tower manufacturing facility, access roads and a construction compound area. The construction footprint will be up to 160ha (inclusive of roads), rehabilitated to an operational footprint of up to 100ha (inclusive of roads). The GPS has been estimated between Victoria West and Loxton town 31°27'01.2"S 22°49'42.1"E
