About this development
Construction of the Soutrivier North wind energy facility located within Ward 5 and 6 on Farm 158, Portion 3; Farm 158, Portion 6; Farm 199, Remaining Extent Farm 199, Portion 2; and Farm 261, near Victoria West and Loxton towns, Ubuntu Local Municipality, Northern Cape. The facility will consist of up to 31 turbines, with a total facility output of up to 270MW. It will also include a powerline and switching station in order to connect to the existing Eskom Substation. There will also be a battery energy storage system, temporary and permanent laydown areas, an IPP substation, a concrete tower manufacturing facility, access roads and a construction compound area. The construction footprint will be up to 122ha (inclusive of roads), rehabilitated to an operational footprint of up to 75ha (inclusive of roads). The GPS has been estimated between Victoria West and Loxton town 31°27'01.2"S 22°49'42.1"E
