R61 Section 8 Tombo Dual Carriageway and Modal Interchange

Upgrade and construction of the R61 Section 8 Tombo Dual Carriageway and Modal Interchange, approximately 22 kilometers inland from Port St Johns, in the province of the Eastern Cape. The project entails the upgrading of a portion of the R61 to a kerbed dual carriageway, including a piped urban stormwater drainage system and mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls. The construction of a public transport interchange and associated urban roads is included, as well as 3 km of low volume community access roads.
