About this development
Construction of the Qamata Water and Sanitation Project which will services the villages of Nogate, Bilatye, Mbinzane, Mgongxo, Nyongwane, Mkhukwini, Mngqanga, Ntlonze, Sihlabini, Zwelitsha and Hala situated in the Intsika Yethu Local Municipality within the jurisdiction of Chris Hani District Municipality, Eastern Cape province. The scope of works will include: Equipping a borehole complete; ±32.92km pipeline (rising main, gravity mains, internal gravity reticulation, yard connections), 4 new concrete reservoirs; repairing and or upgrading three existing reservoirs; storage tanks; tap stands and water meters for water supply; sanitation services infrastructure comprising of a waste water treatment facility (36m³/d): 2.1km gravity sewer reticulation; and 1927 VIP toilets (from the Nominated Sub-Contractor) complete with pit and top structures. CIDB 8: R40 - R130 million.
