Construction of the Paarden Eiland 70Mℓ/day seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, located on ERF 15201-RE, ERF 16387, ERF 14809 and ERF 148405, Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, Western Cape. The project value is R 5 Billion. The site lies between the R27 (Marine Drive) and the N1. The project includes the seawater intake and concentrate outfall pipelines, which run in parallel through the existing concrete seawater canal system from the site to the outer wall of the Port of Cape Town and into Table Bay. The facility will convert 50 to 70 million litres of seawater daily into drinking water, he seawater intake will be positioned approximately 1.27km offshore. The exact GPS co-ordinates are 33°55'08.1"S 18°27'32.3"E.
