About this development
Construction of a wind energy facility in the Malmesbury area in the Western Cape. The total generation of the proposed wind farm will be approximately 40MW which would join a 66KV Eskom line. The project will entail up to 36 wind turbines of between 2 -3.5MW in capacity and of up to 112m in height. Concrete foundations to support the turbines. Cabling between the turbines, to be laid underground where practical. And on-site substation to facilitate the connection between the wind energy facility and the electricity grid. An overhear power line connecting to the existing Moorreesburg 132/66kV substation via a 3.5km power line. Internal road to each turbine. Workshop area/office for control, maintenance and storage.
