Proposed construction of a Manganese Smelter in the Coega Industrial Development Zone in Coega in the Eastern Cape. The plant would be designed to have the flexibility to produce silico- manganese as an alternative product. The smelter would be situated in Zone 6 of the IDZ metallurgical zone, and could possibly be expanded to handle 640 000 t of ore. Estimated project cost : R4.2 billion
