About this development
Upgrading of Surfaced road DR08029 Wild coast meander (Phase 1) R61/Tombo to Mpamba. Contract A - Structural Work: The concrete structure on the first 17 kilometres of gravel road DR08029 is to be upgraded and rehabilitated. A new 42m prestressed concrete birdge will be constructed over the Mngazana River. A new four cell culvert reinforced concrete bridge will be constructed over the Tipa River. The existing single lane bridge over the Sinangwana River will be widened and rehabilitated. Contract B - Road Works: The first 17 kilometres of gravel road DR08029 are to be upgraded to surface standard. The upgrading includes mainly vertical and horizontal alignment improvements to the existing gravel road, bulk earthworks/gabion retaining structures, stormwater drainage, surfacing, accommodation of traffic and ancillary roadworks. Located in the Eastern Cape Province. A - Structural work: 15 months and Contract B - Road Works: 22 months. Contract A - Structural work CIDB 8: R 40 Million - R 130 Million. Contract B - Road Works CIDB 9: R130 Million Plus.
