Coega Wind Energy Project - Grassridge

Construction of a wind energy project in Zone 14 of the Coega IDZ and on the farms Grassridge 225, 227, 228, 190 and Doornkom 229, all of which are situated in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. The proposed project will entail the construction and operation of up to 75 turbines each generating 2 - 3MW of power with a total capacity of up to 210MW. The proposed development will cover an area of approximately 1500 hectares. The 3 new turbines will be constructed on Portion 1 of the farm Welbedachtsfontein (Farm number 300). The farm is approximately 270 ha in extent and located directly to the west of the properties involved in the original Coega Wind Farm and Zone 14 of the Coega IDZ.
