The eThekwini Municipality's Economic Development Unit intends undertaking a number of projects and initiatives during the course of the current financial year (01 July 2007 to 30 June 2008). For this purpose, it is required that consultants that meet certain minimum requirements over and above the normal eligibility requirements submit expression of interest for inclusion in a database/panel for economic development projects to be commenced withing the current financial year. Economic Development Programmes: Local Economic Development. Sub-Programmes of the Unit: Town centre packaging. Typologies: Implementation frameworks; Precinct Plans. Project Name: Greater Tongaat, Pinetown, Verulam, Winklespruit, Illovo, Umkomaas, Isipingo, KwaMashu, Clermont. Description: Preparation of detailed plans and implementation schedules to deliver on the projects identified by LED strategy and towncentre renewal programme. Minimum Requirements: Project management, Local economic development experience, Facilitation and community engagement, Town and regional engineering and quantity surveying, Architecture and urban design.
