The Kwazulu Natal Provincial Planning and Development Commission is constituted in terms of Section 2 of the Town planning Ordinance 27 of 1949. One of its primary roles is to undertake research in planning and development. The PPDC has identified the following research projects it wishes to undertake. Spatial Planning and land Allocation process in the Traditional areas. Project amount R550 000.00 inclusive of disbursements, copy editing, meetings, workshops and VAT. The objective of the project is to investigate processes, system and procedures used by Traditional councils to allocate land for different land uses and develop guidelines to promote efficient land use and sustainable development.
