The Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission in collaboration with the UN Procurement Service is seeking expressions of interest from Contractors for the measurement of ground control points for Spot 5 imagery with resolution of 5m pixels along a strip of approximately 60km width spanning the land portion of the boundary between Nigeria and Cameroon. This boundary extends approximately 1900 km from Lake Chad to the Gulf of Guinea. Ground control consisting of identifiable features on the imagery and in the field will be located in the field and surveyed by GPS methods to obtain accurate coordinates for the control of the fully rectified satellite image maps. These will consist of permanent features able to be identified on the ground and on the satellite imagery so as to provide sufficient coverage to satisfy mapping requirements. These features could be houses, trees, roads, rivers or other physical features that can be identified on the imagery and also in the field. Approximately 450 ground control points are to be surveyed. The systems and procedures used are to give an accuracy of; Horizontal: < 2m; Vertical: < 5m. Training in English and French in the surveying of ground control is to be provided by the contractor in the field, during and at the end of the contract.
