Eskom has embarked on an ongoing information gathering and screening process to identify suppliers and coal resources for the supply of coal for power generation. This process is open to all suppliers with access to coal resources suitable for any of Eskom's existing and/ or planned power stations. Under the ongoing screening process there is no submission deadline. Suppliers who have already submitted information need not re-submit. Besides the ongoing screening process, Eskom is seeking information on suppliers and coal resources for specific power stations. Suppliers who have previously submitted such specific information are invited to provide updated proposals, should they so wish. The deadlines for the submission of these specific proposals are as follows: Power Station: Majuba. Coal specifications (air dried basis) - CV (MJ/kg): 20-25. Ash (%): Max 30. Total Moisture (%): 5-11. Volatiles (%): 20-24. AI (mg/4kgFE): 290-450. Sulphur (%): Less than 1.2. 100%<Size (mm): 50. Maximum%<3mm: 35. Logistics:Access to a rail loading facility. Supply: (quantities on an air dried basis) - Term: Minimum sales tons (kton): Longterm: 45 000. Minimum annual deliveries (kton pa): Longterm: 3000.
