About this development
Establishment of a wet sulphuric acid (WSA) plant and ammonium sulphate manufacturing (ASM) plant, in Secunda, Mpumalanga Province, as well as the installation of a 1,5km above ground, pipeline linking the WSA plant to the ASM plant. The pipeline will transport the sulphuric acid produced at the WSA plant to the ASM plant and to the loading facilities for sulphuric acid at Sasol Nitro. The WSA plant will be located in the Sasol Synfuels Complex and the ASM plant in the Sasol Nitro's current area of operation at Sasol Secunda. The total estimated cost of the project is R450 million.
