About this development

Construction of Wau Dam on the Siwi River at a distance of approximately 9km south of Wau, South Sudan. With a storage capacity of 2 billion(m³), the dam aims to generate about 10.40MW of electricity at a later stage. In addition to providing electricity, the dam will also provide drinking water to 500 000 citizens, and provide supplementary irrigation for 12,600 to 16,800 hectares of land.
