Vanggatfontein project, Delmas

Keaton Mining proposes to develop a new openpit coal mining operation. In addition the proposed project will include a coal washing plant, mine residue disposal facilities and various support infrastructure and services. The proposed project is located to the east of Delmas, on the farm Vanggatfontein 251 IR and possible also on the following farms: Rietkuil 249 IR, Rietkuil 278 IR, Vogelfontein 222 IR and Brakfontein 277 IR, in the Delmas Magisterial District of the Nkangala District Municipality in the Mpumalanga Province. Phase 1 of the project will cost an estimated R130 million. Phase 2 will cost an estimated R180 million. To be known as Emadzilini Colliery.
