Upgrading of National Road R23 Section 1 from Platrand (km 52,0) to Standerton (km 82,0) (30,0 Km) in Mpumalanga. The scope of work entailed the rehabilitation, widening and strengthening of the existing road, as well as structural works, include the upgrading and broadening of several bridges and major culverts. Other works envisaged include the cleaning, repairing and extension of existing minor culverts, the construction of subsurface and side-drains, as well as the clearing, grubbing and replacement of road markings and road studs. Contract valued at R 358-million.
