About this development
The Umlabu capacity upgrade will include a production upgrade, which will consist of two new production sections to increase run-of-mine production from 95 000 t/m to 150 000 t/m; a plant upgrade which comprise increasing the Umlabu processing plant's capacity from 35 000t/m to 110 000t/m; and the construction of the Umlabu siding with a capacity of 60 000t/m. The result of the capacity upgrade programme will be a mine capable of producing 150 000t/m of ROM of which 40 000t/m will be sold to Eskom. The project is located in Breyten, near Ermelo, in Mpumalanga Province. Project value: R400 million.
