About this development
This project proposes to expand the existing 8 000 t/d mine located about 300km north of Nouakchott, in north-western Mauritania in North Africa. The open-pit operation, with a design throughput of about 60 000 t/d, will process high grade ore through three-stage crushing, ball milling and a carbon-in-leach circuit. The projected initial capital cost is $1.566 billion, including $182 million in contingency.
