About this development
Construction of the 480MW Soyuz 4 Wind Energy Facility and associated infrastructure located approximately 46km south of Britstown, Ubuntu Local Municipality, Pixley ka Seme District Municipality, Northern Cape. The project site covers approximately 14 200ha and comprises the following farm portions: The Farm Altringham No. 19; The Farm No. 18; Remaining Extent of the Farm Allemans Dam No. 17; Remaining Extent (Portion 0) of the Farm Allemans Combuis No. 1; Remaining Extent of Portion 1 of the Farm Combuisfonteion No. 142; Portion 1 of the Farm Allemans Dam No. 17. The infrastructure will include up to 75 wind turbines; Battery Energy Storage System; three substations, operation and maintenance facilities as well as a laydown area at each substation. Operation and maintenance facilities include a gate house, security building, control centre, offices, warehouses and workshops. Access roads to the site and between project components inclusive of stormwater infrastructure. The estimated GPS coordinates are 30°59'33.9"S 23°30'50.7"E
