About this development
The Shondoni mine is a brownfields project located 10km from Secunda in Mpumalanga. The project is to provide a fully operational coal mine complete with shaft, underground infrastructure, for supply to Sasol Coal, as well as the surface infrastructure, buildings, new warehouse and conveyors. The project will result in the construction of a new mine to replace output from Sasol’s mature Middelbult coal mine, which is nearing the end of its useful life. The project is one of three replacement projects being undertaken by Sasol. Estimated project value : R5.6 billion installed contract value.
