About this development
Development of a 30 MW PV Plant on of the Farm Schmidtsdrift 248 Portion 0000. The farm is 33 000 ha in extent, of which 100 ha comprises the proposed development site. The proposed site is located approximately 50 km north-east of Douglas, 50 km south-west of Barkly West and 80 km west of Kimberley, in the Northern Cape. The purpose of the PV plant is to augment renewable energy and feed this into the national grid via the Schmidtsdrift substation. This substation is to be constructed by Eskom in the near future, and will be located less than 1 km from any of the phases of the proposed project.
