About this development
Development of the Sasol wax expansion project in Sasolburg in the Free State (Sasolburg Fischer-Tropsch Wax Expansion Project). The project is expected to double the production of hard waxes and will be implemented in two phases. The project will also result in the increased production of medium waxes, mostly used for the candle industry in South Africa, as well as liquid paraffin used in a variety of industrial applications. Sasol has approved R558-million to complete the basic engineering and for ordering long-lead items for the first phase of this expansion.
