About this development
The proposed Roodekop Coal Mine will be situated in the magisterial area of the Emalahleni Local Municipality and within the Nkangala district Municipality. Roodekop will be located approximately 120km east of the centre of Johannesburg, 30km south of Middelburg and approximately 9km north of the town of Kriel in Mpumalanga. Roodekop will export quality thermal coal, as well as low-phosphorous coal suitable for the steel making industry.
