About this development
Re-opening of the historical Rietfontein Gold Mine that was operational form the early 1900's to 1946. It is the intention of the TGME to develop a new planned ramp access decline located on the farm Spitskop 195 JT remaining extent. The surface infrastructure includes a bank area, this is an area with ancillary infrastructure, such as crushers, dense medium separator plant and offices, to support the underground mining activities, and a waste rock dump. The Rietfontein Underground Gold Mine is situated approximately 3km east of the town of Sabie in Mpumalanga on portions 1, 4 and 6 of the Farm Rietfontein 193 JT; portion 16 of the Farm Waterval 168 JT; remaining extent of the Farm Maliveld Vallei 192 JT and remaining extent and portions 2 and 3 of the Farm Spitskop.
