Project overview
About this development
Upgrading of the Plettenberg Bay East bulk water and sewer infrastructure, located approximately 15km from Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape. Pipeline upgrades: upgrading the bulk water pipeline between the Plettenberg Bay WTP and the Matjiesfontein Reservoir in Keurbooms. The pipeline will be approximately 10km in length, with diameters ranging from 315mm to 450mm, and a peak flow capacity of approximately 130L/s. The pipeline will largely follow existing pipeline alignments and road reserves to minimise environmental and social impacts. Sewer infrastructure upgrades: The project includes upgrades to the bulk sewer system between the Aventura pump station and the Gansevallei wastewater treatment works to accommodate increased wastewater flows from existing and planned developments. The Aventura pump station will be upgraded to a capacity of 160L/s, and a new 355mm diameter UPVC rising main of approximately 6km long will be installed largely within the N2 road reserve. The GPS marker has been placed at the existing Matjiesfontein reservoir, 34°00'19.5"S 23°25'09.6"E.
