About this development
Construction of a wind farm with a contracted capacity of up to 310MW on portion 0 of the farm Bruwels Fontein 249, 30km north-east of the town of Touws River in the Western Cape. The wind farm will include up to 50 wind turbines and associated infrastructure including an on-site facility substation, collector substation, turbine foundations & turbine hardstands, main & internal access roads, temporary laydown areas, cabling between the turbines, temporary concrete batching plant and operation & maintenance buildings. The site falls withing Focus Area 2 of the Renewable Energy Development Zones (REDZ) which is known as the Komsberg REDZ. The GPS co-ordinates are 33°08'01.2"S 20°13'57.1"E.
