About this development
Development of a coal mine for Ntshovelo Mining Resources, on the Remaining extent of portion 3, Portion 5 and 13 of the farm Vlakvarkfontein 213 IR in the district of Witbank in Mpumalanga. The proposed mining operation will consist of opencast mining using the sequential lateral rollover mining technique. Soft overburden will be removed by truck and shovel. Hard overburden and the target coal seam will be drilled and blasted prior to removal. The entire mining operation will take in the order of 10 years to complete.
