About this development
Construction of a 375 000-ton-a-month concentrator plant and infrastructure that will increase nickel production to about 21 500 tons and platinum to 130 000oz a year. Nkomati Nickel Mine in Mpumalanga is one of the lowest-cost nickel producers in the world. The partners are busy evaluating the potential of the large disseminated lower-grade resource that can be mined from open pits as well as from existing underground infrastructure. The interim phase project cost R384 million. The phase 2 expansion will cost R3,2 billion.
