About this development
The purpose of the N4 Nelspruit Northern Ring Road is to provide a high-mobility alternative route through traffic to and from Maputo, especially heavy vehicles in line with a phased implementation approach. The ring road will also remove the N4 at pass through town. The intention of the first phase of the project is to establish a single-carriageway road with surfaced shoulders. The road cross-section comprises 2 m- x 3,5 m-wide lanes and 2 m- x 2,5 m-wide surfaced shoulders. Climbing lanes are provided over the very steep sections only. The road will also form part of the link-road system from Mozambique and Swaziland to the Mbombela Sport Stadium via road P166-1. Project Value: R660-million.
