Project overview
About this development
Construction and replacement of the existing water main in Mimosa Street, Jeffrey’s Bay, Eastern Cape. The project value is R 17 934 862,94. The scope of works could include: the construction of the new 315mm diameter uPVC water main in Mimosa Street starting in Noorsekloof road where it will connect to existing lines. It continues the full length of Mimosa Road, approximately 2200m, where it will tie into the existing house connections and end into existing pipes. The proposed pipeline will be laid within the left-hand edge of the roadway. This will involve the saw cutting and excavation of existing asphalt and layer works. The new pipeline must be commissioned and fully operational before the old pipeline is disconnected. Only at this stage will the tie-ins and erf connections be rerouted. The scope also included the supply and installation of fire hydrants as well as a pressure reducing valve. Upon completion of the pipeline installation, the road surface of Mimosa Street will be resealed and furnished with road markings. A further 160mm diameter pipeline approximate length 500m is to be laid along Da Gama Road. The co-ordinates at the corner of Mimosa Street and Noorsekloof Road is 34°02'03.42"S 24°33'45.96"E.
