About this development

Development of the proposed Leeuwkop Platinum Mine. The development will consist of a 1 350-m twin-shaft system to gain access to the orebody, as well as finalising the detailed mine design for Leeuwkop, which is situated in the western bushveld, near Brits in the North West Province. The pre-feasibility study envisages a 300 000 ounce per year mining and concentrating operation with a life of mine in excess of 20 years. Total capital expenditure over the next five years is expected to be about R10 billion. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is -25.6275846; long: 27.6170798.
