Le Meridien Kruger Park Golf Resort & Spa, Hazyview, Mpumalanga

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has signed a long-term agreement with Johannesburg-based Meadow Star Investments 28 to manage the Le Meridien Kruger Park Golf Resort & Spa near Hazyview in Mpumalanga. This will be the first Le Meridien branded property in South Africa. The hotel is part of a US$172-million (R1.2-billion) tourism project that will include a 180-room Le Meridien hotel, restaurants, 9 350m² of meeting and business facilities, a health spa, solar-heated indoor and outdoor pools and a gymnasium. The entertainment offering will feature indigenous craft shops, a cultural centre with amphitheatre for outdoor shows, a helipad, a kids club, a library and games room, a wild animal conservation enclosure, an equestrian centre and a mountain biking track. The luxury hotel component alone will cost at least R300-million.
