About this development
Taung Gold (Free State) Pty Ltd (Taung) is proposing to revive the historical Jeanette Gold Mine. The proposed project is located approximately 20km northwest of Welkom in the Free State Province, The majority of the target ore resource lies between the R30 provincial road in the north and the R34 provincial road in the south. The proposed project will be an underground mining operation located more than 1km below ground, with the following surface infrastructure: a single main shaft complex, a processing plant, a tailings storage facility, a waste rock dump, product and run-of-mine stockpiles, topsoil stockpiles, mine related facilities such as workshops, stores and various support infrastructure and services.
