The Department of Agriculture Free State proposed to develop an irrigation water dam for the proposed Essential Oil project on the Farm Saighton 577 in the Tweespruit area in the Free State. Activity Description: The proposed earthen dam will have a water surface area of 6.8ha, a maximum wall height of 4.8m and a capacity of 150 000ml. The 660m long earthen wall will have a volume of approximately 28 000ml with a 20m wide grass emergency and a 20m wide reinforced concrete main-spillway to discharge the 1 in 20 year flood safely into the nearest stream.
