About this development
Construction of a Sports Science Faculty and High Performance Training Centre for the proposed world class High Altitude Training Centre in Emakhazeni (Belfast) in the province of Mpumalanga. The site is approximately 110ha in size and is the remaining extent of portion 3 of the farm Belfast Town and Town Lands 357 JT (formerly a portion of Farm Tweefontein 300 JT). The Sports Science Faculty will offer three year bachelor degrees and one year honour degrees in Sport Science. The number of students anticipated is 300 and the faculty building will include a sport science laboratory, lecture theatres, academic offices, administration offices and store rooms. The High Performance Training Centre will link up to the faculty and will include indoor tracks, changing rooms, state of the art Rehabilitation Centre with ice pool, saline pool and steam rooms, physiotherapy rooms, admin offices and store rooms. The individual facilities and their associated playing fields will be constructed as individual projects. Parking construction and landscaping will occur in phases across the site. Service infrastructure will be linked to individual buildings as they are completed. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is 25°40'56.3"S 30°02'15.5"E
