About this development
NuCoal Mining (Pty) Ltd intends to develop an opencast mine on the remaining extent of the Farm Hartogshoop 410 JS near Middelburg in the Mpumalanga Province. The site is located east of the existing Teutfontein mine. The coal reserve is contiguous with the Teutfontein opencast mining operation on Portion 6 of the farm Teutfontein 407 JS for which Woestalleen Collieries (Pty) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of NuCoal, currently hold the right to mine. The proposed mining site is located approximately 10km east of Middelburg and 9km north of the N4 highway between Johannesburg and Nelspruit.
